Im new to ethereum but I think this could work. A reply back with correction would be awesome.
Proposal: Users can manually link their existing block to another users block via a merkle proof and if they find a user who is has a fraudulent fork, they recieve a bounty of a 'percentage of fraudsters slashed collateral. I feel like adding manual merkle proofing in this way, via scannable QR code or some other means will allow users who are new to build trust in ethereum and in their communities as they are onboarded into the network over time. Many non–crypto bros see the block chain and feel like their agency is given to an algorithm, which it is, for the most part. But this will allow users to participate in the block chain and even expand upon it.
The manual proof goes beyond the bounty hunting and into the concept of trust and engagement with the network. Once again im not well versed in programming language so i cant tell you what code should go where, but let me know where this could fail or succeed and shoot some questions my way.
