ERC-8427: Portable Spend Grants

I’m exploring budget changes for agent service orders. One clarification on the new Replacing a grant section at fb57be3: does “requested value” mean a new cumulative ceiling, or an additional budget?

For one old grant, after its revocation is final, take old maxTotal = 1000, spent = 700, and a requested cumulative ceiling of 800. The section’s bound, min(requested value, old remaining), gives min(800, 300) = 300. Spending that replacement permits 700 + 300 = 1000, rather than the intended 800.

For a tightening of the cumulative ceiling, I think the replacement needs:

replacement maxTotal <= max(0, min(old maxTotal, target cumulative total) - old spent)

That gives 100 here. Targets of 700 or 600 leave no additional budget; since zero caps are invalid, the wallet should omit that asset, or issue no replacement if none remain. It should also explain when spending has already exceeded the requested target.

I saw the reset/stacking cases in SpendGrantReplacement.t.sol. Could the wallet guidance also distinguish these two meanings and include the 1000 / 700 / 800 -> 100 case? If “requested value” already means additional budget, naming it that way would resolve the ambiguity. This is a specification-reading question; I haven’t run the Solidity suite.
