Blockdaemon supports EIP-8148 and would like to see it considered for Hegotá.
We run Ethereum validators for a large number of institutional clients, and a
configurable sweep threshold is one of the most frequently requested features we
hear from them. The reason is nearly always the same. Institutions need rewards
to arrive as a predictable, automatic stream.
Today 0x01 gives them that via the 32 ETH sweep. 0x02 does not. Moving rewards
off a compounding validator means a triggered withdrawal per validator, plus an
unpredictable wait in the queue. For several of our clients, that is
the reason they are still on 0x01.
EIP-8148 fixes that. Rewards keep arriving on the sweep as
they do for 0x01 today, while balance below the threshold still compounds. That
makes consolidation under EIP-7251 something we can recommend to a client rather
than a tradeoff we have to talk them through.
